What Are We Fasting?
At the beginning of the year we want to set our lives apart by fasting. Fasting is making a sacrifice in order to re-calibrate our lives so that we are in tune with the Voice of Holy Spirit. Fasting can take many forms including,
How Do We Fast?
To begin, Pray! Ask God for what He would like you to give up. He will guide you to an area where He has given you a grace to abstain from during the fast. Once you know what you're to fast, write it out and make sure that you have asked all questions that you can think of prior to starting. For example, if you are fasting breads, pastas and grains are you allowed to eat corn, corn chips etc... Make these determinations and write them down.
You will then want to set certain times a day that are special and dedicated to reading the word, worship and / or prayer. These should be times you would usually be cooking and eating.

The type of fast you have decided upon will determine what you may or may not have.
